I’m so excited to share my journey with you.

I’ve always been an avid reader, and I’ve fallen just as hard for writing stories of my own. Many of those stories will find their way here—some polished, some still in the making. Who knows what might happen? If you show enough interest, one of those tales might just turn into my next published book!

I might even ask for your help along the way—plot ideas, character names, twists. How fun would it be to write a story shaped by my loyal readers? I think that kind of project would be an unforgettable experience.

If you’re new here (which, let’s be honest, most of you probably are)—hi! I’m Debra Nicole Vaughn. That’s not a pen name—it’s my real one. I live in a small town in Missouri, near St. Louis. I’ve been here most of my life, aside from the time I lived in Mississippi while my husband, now retired from the U.S. Navy, was stationed there. We’ve been married for 13 years and are now settled back in Missouri.

Right now, I’m studying to pass my state nursing boards. Nursing has always been my first love—but writing comes in at a very close second. Lucky for me, I get to pursue both.

We don’t have kids, but we have four fur children—two dogs and two cats—and yes, they are absolutely my babies. I also have two nieces and a nephew who live nearby, and they’re over at our house just about every week.

Now let’s get back to the books. I’ve always loved reading survival romance, age-gap love stories, enemies to lovers, and brother’s best friend tropes. And now, I’m diving headfirst into the world of romantasy.

And fun fact? I’m obsessed with cruising. That’s what inspired the story behind Salt & Silence—my debut survival romance novel set against the backdrop of a cruise ship disaster.
